I'm supposed to be writing my NSF essays right now. My music is on. All the word files are open.
But I've just come back from coffee, and the espresso taste is still sitting in the back of my throat. It's a pleasant, comfortable feeling, associated with comfy leather armchairs, and the others sitting around after lunch, and it's very chill.
I've been meaning to share the joke from lunch yesterday.
Economist joke:
On the first day, God created light.
So, the Devil, he created darkness.
On the second day, God created love.
And the Devil creates . . . marriage.
On the third day, God creates an economist.
The Devil looks at this, and he thinks a little bit. And then he creates . . . another economist.
Economist and mathematician jokes were the theme from lunch yesterday.
And there was a discussion about humor afterward, at coffee. I think it was about mathematician's preferred French humor. Plenty of non-French know about Asterix. I found out about a group from the 80's I think, called Les Inconnues (The Unknowns). Apparently, whole conversations are conducted in France based on their routines. I haven't checked them out, yet, but it's kinda cool to find out about this stuff, so I thought I'd share . . . At any rate, they should be on youtube.
Right. I was doing something, wasn't I?
