Jumping ahead

So, I will write a couple more posts soon that really should come before this one. But it's late, and I'm winding down with a nice blog post.

I made this delicious pasta sauce today. It was sour creme and tomatoes made into an Alfredo type thing by adding flour water. And then I added Chai tea spices (sans tea) in there. It went over chestnut pasta, which I bought a few weeks ago. Currently all this is sitting warmly and cozily in my stomach. Mmmm.

I haven't really cooked that much since I left Chicago. It's far more fun to cook when there's other people to feed. When I have French friends that I can invite over, I'll have to taunt them with spicy curries. Although, my former roommate would eat my spicy stuff, so maybe I can convert the people here . . . French people don't tend to eat spicy food.

Today also I went downtown. Originally, I'd intended to buy a broom and then bike it home on one of the rent-a-bikes they have all over town. That way, I could play at being a witch with a broomstick. But it's better to rent the bikes after getting the bike rental card . . . at any rate, I did some shopping, and then walked home, instead, without a broom.

I was walking back, and it was pouring rain, and I'm soaked, and I look, and there are all these leaves all over the ground near my place. Piles and piles of soggy leaves you had to walk around so they wouldn't stick in your shoes. The leaf piles reminded me of my former roommate, S--, and how we jumped and dove into huge piles of leaves back in Chicago. It's really too bad, I don't think there's anyone around here I can jump into leaf piles with.

I follow S--'s blog, which she doesn't update nearly enough (more Japanese limericks, please!) and it's funny, because the post I read today also mentioned leaf-pile-jumping. So my blog says hi to your blog, S--!

LOL! Yay for being on the same wavelength! And I am glad you are also enjoying the leaves in your own happy world of France. :)
