Melting into the Humidity

As for the title of this post, yes, it's incredibly humid here. If the next time you see me, I'm transparent, it's because the rest of me is floating with the water in some cloud or other.

The humidity is incredibly soporific, but you'd think a bunch of loud little children would wake me up. Except that they're tiring, too. I don't really understand this. Because they are having a lot of fun. And they don't get tired. And they do a lot more playing than I do. And I'm not old. But it's good. The kids are the only reason I'll leave this summer vaguely in shape. Yesterday, my little sister was learning to swim by sitting on my back in the pool as I was swimming around, almost drowning me because she was trying to balance without hands. It worked. Now she swims the length of the pool on her own.

This will be the first 4th of July I'll be at this house in . . . definitely more than four years. A long time. Mmmm- subdivision fireworks.
