Ok, so I'm finally trying to fill out my French visa application. It also doubles as a generalized college admission process for French universities. Because of this, there's a section called "goals".
There, they ask normal things, like, they ask for a CV, for my "Study Goals", for my "Professional Plans" . . . and then they as for "My Goals".
I really wish I knew what they meant. For instance, do they mean, do I wish to change the world when I grow up? (With math . . . huh.) Or maybe they want me to restate that I really really do want to go do math in France, and it's so important that I'll write it twice? I could just tell them that, while in France, I plan to eat enough pain au raisin to last me for the next few years, until I can return. Seriously, I've no idea.
Oh. They probably mean personal goals. (Ahh . . . my = personal.) That makes it less exciting. I'm going because it's good to be thrown in the deap end every once in a while. What's the polite way to say that? . . . and without pretentious-sounding clichés?
