Lures

I'm really becoming a French person now. I even get French spam! Just now, one of those my rich father died and can I give you his money emails popped into my mailbox, in French! You never really become a part of a country until you start receiving spam in it . . . (clearly)

Another lure, with me luring this time: apparently, my next door neighbor likes how the stuff smells that I cook. He came over today to borrow some of my chairs, and said so. He also said that the smell permeates the entire floor, so . . . oops. I better not cook anything gross-smelling, then, or else I'll be subjecting everyone here to my misfortune. But this appears to have lured him into inviting me over . . . so I'll start to get to know my neighbors! Yay!

This is good timing, too, because my French is just finally at the point where I can understand conversations. It took its time, too . . . (grumble)

Yes. Optimism is a good thing.
