Finding a problem in a new research area to branch out to is kind of like finding a boyfriend for a long term relationship. You meet a problem, and you need to decide if he is worth your time. Do you want to devote your to time to really get to know him? Do you have the patience to meet his family (prior research)?
Now that I've pretty much finished my thesis papers, it's like I'm single again. What if I don't find a new research area that I can love very much?
