I'm having Japanese soba noodles with homemade tomato and meatball sauce. It's very interesting. The buckwheat taste of the soba and the acidity of the tomato form a . . . unique combination. Maybe they're not used to each other yet? I'm sure when Japanese people go to Italy for the first time (or the other way around) they find everything rather strange, and then they settle in. So surely their foods can come to an agreement on my plate!
As to why I'm putting amazing tomato sauce on the wrong kind of pasta- I just didn't have any other kind in my apartment . . . This shall be remedied, but for now, back to lunch!

Do you remember the movie Tanpopo, when all those fancy Japanese people are trying to eat spaghetti in a fancy way? HILARIOUS.
I don't think I ever saw it. Is it on youtube?
I don't know. But it is a hilarious movie about the quest to make the world's best Ramen. Jenya, you would love it. It was recommended to me by Alex, if that helps you understand the kind of awesomeness that it possesses...
Raaaaameen! (Must get stronger!!!)
