Powdered Sugar
I found out that you can make powdered sugar today! Just put normal sugar into a coffee grinder, and there you go! The only problem is that it takes a while, because the grinder gets grumpy if you put too much in at once. (And by grumpy, I mean that it tries to over-heat.)
I also found out that if you put almond meal in with the sugar, some of the mixture gelifies when you grind it. So you get these little almond-sugar gel pellets. You sift them out and pour them into your mouth, and are happy.
My goal with all this is to make macarons. We'll see how it goes. They're supposed to be difficult, so I'm mostly expecting some delicious pseudo-macaron mess to come out of the process.
