Magic

Norwegian coins have little holes in the middle! They're probably magic. If you look through the hole you see trolls and fairies and stuff. Haven't tried it yet, though.

I'm in a very small town in Norway. It's surrounded by mountains, and it's at the base of a fjord. Snowmelt flows down the mountains in long narrow streams. The mountains are extremely green and rocky and the sky is uniformly gray. The little roads are mostly gravel. The wind blows my hair everywhere when I walk.

They say there will be a steep hike later today.

This is going to be awesome.

p.s. Just wanted to mention: the big roads, as opposed to little ones, are all well-paved. This place isn't quite so out of the way as the description may have implied . . . For instance, there are no polar bears here.
