Anatomy and other subjects

This is meant to be a proper blog, even though, unfortunately, I don't update it properly enough. But being a proper blog means that as soon as something embarrassing happens, I just have to tell the world about it.

So, I was in Muay Thai today (Thai kickboxing). And we were meant to be kicking our partner in the liver, which, as was explained to us, is just below your ribcage on your right side. I've been out of practice kicking, seeing as how I took a break this summer, so when one of my kicks landed painfully too low on my opponent's hips (which were armor-plated, by the way- all bone), I decided to compensate and kick higher. For my next kick, I grazed her neck with my big toe. Mind you, no opponents were hurt in the happening of this story.

On to after this exercise. The coach, who looks like Robert DeNiro, says, "Just to clarify. We are trying to kick the liver. The liver is just under the ribcage. Some people might think it is higher. Higher, is not the liver. It is the neck. There is no liver in the neck. This is just basic anatomy. Now some people might be flexible, and kick the neck. But that's not what you want to do. You really want to kick the liver." And of course, everyone is cracking up. Coach never makes eye contact.

That's my embarrassing story. Of course, it's not about me and some hot celebrity or whatnot. Sorry, for that you don't go to a once-a-month blog . . . Just had to tell everyone.
